Silvia Pereira de Castro Casa Nova

Mini Curriculum: 

Silvia Casa Nova is Full Professor of the School of Economics, Business and Accounting, at the University of Sao Paulo (USP), and faculty member of the Master in Accounting at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS), both in Brazil. She is visiting researcher at the École de Comptabilité, at the Université Laval, Québec, since January 2019. She is associate editor of Accounting Education: an international journal and member of the RAE-Revista de Administração de Empresas Scientific Editorial Board. Casa Nova has been teaching at graduate level since 2003, and undergraduate level since 1992, and has served as a peer reviewer in conferences and journals throughout her career. She is co-founder and co-coordinator of the FEA Research Group in Gender, Race and Sexuality (Generas). She graduated in Public Administration at the Fundação Getulio Vargas (EAESP-FGV) and earned both a master's and doctoral degrees in Accounting from USP. She developed her Postdoctoral Research at FGV. She had been visiting scholar at the University of Minnesota, United States, and visiting researcher at the Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, Portugal. She has been visiting professor of graduate programs in Brazil, Portugal and Colombia. Her areas of experience and interest are: entrepreneurship, gender in higher education, feminism, gender in accounting, accounting education, teaching accounting, teaching in higher education, financial management and accounting for SMEs.
