The undergraduate course in Accounting of the School of Economics, Business and Accounting of USP (FEAUSP) has been recognized by ACCA (Association of Certified Accountants), with headquarters in the United Kingdom. The international certification will made it possible for the FEAUSP students to become a member of ACCA, which facilitates their professional insertion in the foreign market.
FEAUSP is the first undergraduate school to receive this certification in Brazil. According to Professor Bruno Meirelles Salotti, coordinator of the undergraduate courses in Accounting and Actuarial Sciences, to carry out the application process to be an ACCA member, the FEAUSP student will save some money, in addition will earn the Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business faster.
The impact of this recognition of the accounting course for FEAUSP students and their benefits was announced at an event held on November 30th in the Congregation Room, coordinated by the head of the accounting department, Ariovaldo dos Santos, and by the teachers Renê Coppe Pimentel and Bruno Meirelles Salotti.
ACCA Executive Director Rani Majeed said the organization has more than 198,000 qualified members and 486,000 students worldwide. She emphasized that the group of professionals is the most advanced in the world and that its role is to contribute to the economic growth of countries and to the prosperity of peoples. The work of the entity focuses on the construction of the profession, with the goal of making society more fair and transparent.
ACCA's Emerging Markets Director Lucia Real-Martin stressed that one of the hallmarks of the new generation of accounting and finance professionals is that they are better able to deal with the changes driven by technology and globalization. This fact would increase the chances of career success, opening more and more doors in the global market.
