Regras para Credenciamento de docentes

Decisions on supervisor accreditation will be based on the needs of the program and on the professor’s academic and scientific performance. According to the Program Regulation for the Graduate Program in Controllership and Accounting, the first professor accreditation is always as a specific supervisor, both for the master’s and doctor’s degree courses.

Specific Supervision

The following requirements are mandatory for specific supervision:

a) At least a doctor’s degree with national validity or whose equivalence is recognized by USP;

b) Having external grants for research in the last 5 (five) years prove that at least one request for external resources has been made in the 12 (twelve) months prior to the accreditation request;

c) Line of research clearly defined and related to the area in which accreditation is being requested;

d) Demonstrating at least the minimum scientific production required in the last five years, according to the Program Regulation:

      - 1 (one) publication in indexed scientific journals with impact factor (JCR) > 1 or H-index (Scimago/Scopus) > 20 or Citescore (Scopus) > 1; or

      - publications in indexed scientific journals with Qualis-CAPES classification totalizing 100 points.

Each specific supervisor may supervise a maximum of 2 (two) master's and/or 1 (one) doctoral students simultaneously.

The professor will be evaluated for his/her participation in research projects and groups and publications in journals with arbitration that are recognized in the area. His/her participation in post-doctoral internships and performance as a research coordinator will be considered. The academic merit of the scientific production will be judged by the program’s Coordinating Committee based on an ad hoc report issued by an expert appointed by the Coordination.

Requests

Requests for accreditation should be made in writing, including the following documentation:

• A detailed explanation by the applicant of the project’s innovative contribution to the graduate program (form attached below);

• Identification of the interested party’s relationship (e.g., young researcher), mentioning the program’s duration and line of research;

• Demonstration of the existence of infrastructure (physical, material, and/or equipment);

• Demonstration of the existence of resources for financing the project proposed for guiding the graduate student;

• Statement by a professor of the institution or supervisor, with the consent of the head of department or equivalent, showing agreement in relation to the use of space to carry out the guidance requested and to maintain the conditions to carry out the post-graduate student’s project;

• Curriculum vitae of the applicant featuring the completed and ongoing instructions inside and outside USP, if applicable;

• Demonstration of the functional situation and institutional affiliation of the applicant (if the applicant does not show a stable institutional affiliation, their period of stay at FEA must be at least 75% of the maximum term for completing the dissertation or thesis).

Full Supervisor

Through approval by the CCP, professors who have supervised at least one master’s degree dissertation or doctor’s degree thesis in the PPGCC, with significant scientific production and recognized value and impact, may be accredited as full supervisors.

The following requirements are mandatory for specific supervision:

a) At least a doctor’s degree with national validity or whose equivalence is recognized by USP;

b) Having external grants for research in the last 5 (five) years prove that at least one request for external resources has been made in the 12 (twelve) months prior to the accreditation request;

      - publications in indexed scientific journals with Qualis-CAPES classification totalizing 200 points; or

      - 1 (one) publication in indexed scientific journals with impact factor (JCR) > 1 or H-index (Scimago/Scopus) > 20 or Citescore (Scopus) > 1 and publications in indexed scientific journals with Qualis-CAPES classification totalizing 100 points.

The supervisor must also undertake teaching activities in the program.

Reaccreditation

b) number of dropouts in the period;

c) number of supervisions in progress;

d) scientific, artistic, and technological production derived from the theses and dissertations supervised by the applicant;
